What a Training Certificate Actually Proves

When an organisation commissions a leadership programme, a provider designs the content, delivers the learning, and assesses whether participants have met the standard the provider itself set. The certificate that follows confirms three things: the person attended, the person completed the assignments, and the person satisfied an internal threshold defined by the organisation that charged for the learning.

It confirms nothing about whether that person leads well. It says nothing about whether they produce measurable outcomes for the people and organisations in their charge. And it offers no independent verification of any kind.

    Every LII-certified leader holds an LII Digital Passport — a W3C Verifiable Credential hosted at verify.lii.institute. They share it as a link, a QR code embedded in their CV, or via an email from certifications@lii.institute.

  2. Employer verifies in seconds

    Scan the QR code or enter the credential reference at verify.lii.institute. The system returns the certification level, the date of award, the assessment components completed, and the current validity status — live, not cached.

  3. Integrate via API for scale
